The electronic medical record viewer of the Hospital General de Valencia celebrates its 20th anniversary
PANGEA, developed by Veratech for Health, provides information on 380,000 patients.
Twenty years ago, in response to the need of clinicians at the Hospital General de Valencia to have unified and structured patient information, the Veratech for Health team developed PANGEA. The tool was designed based on the integration engine of the LinkEHR platform, which allows the Hospital to have a system of integration of health databases to obtain the Computerized Health Record. In these years of continuous collaboration, PANGEA has become the basic tool for consulting clinical information, both in the General Hospital and in the Health Centers of the Department and other Hospitals of the Community. In addition, it is the central engine for the donation of clinical reports to the Centralized Health Record, both of the Valencian Community and of the National one.
The viewer has proven to be a robust and reliable solution, offering a wide range of benefits for patient search and clinical information management.
With a patient-centered approach, PANGEA has achieved significant milestones along the way. Currently, the service serves an extensive patient base, managing information on more than 380,000 individuals.. More than 2,000 physicians and nurses benefit from PANGEA's capabilities to effectively access and utilize clinical information. The overall impression of PANGEA among users is extremely positive, backed by its long history and ability to provide a wide range of technological advances in the healthcare field.
PANGEA's distinct advantage lies in its ability to fully satisfy the solution sought by Conselleria. For two decades, the hospital has relied on PANGEA to facilitate the search and collection of patient information, enabling efficient and effective medical care.
"One of the practical focuses of our developments is in the healthcare sector and PANGEA represents a great success with its more than 380,000 registered patients,"says Veratech CEO Maryna Danylyuk.
PANGEA stands out for its ability to migrate and adapt to different databases, which has been fundamental in facilitating the transition and changes in the hospital's applications. In addition, PANGEA provides easy access to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and serves as a gateway to external applications, such as the electronic prescription system. Its function as an EHR viewer ensures data integrity and immutability, guaranteeing that clinical information is secure and accurate.
In addition to complying with all the regulations established by the Data Protection Law, PANGEA is the central engine for auditing access to patient medical history data. This provides peace of mind to both medical professionals and patients.
Over the years, Pangea has become an essential tool in the hospital's daily management. In addition, the new modules allow extending the functionality of the viewer to be a search engine of data needed for clinical information relevant to clinicians and researchers. In addition, PANGEA has enabled the University General Hospital to establish a valuable connection with the HCEN Health, which represents a gateway to the national health record. Through this connection, the hospital receives emergency reports and analysis, which provides valuable feedback and improves the quality of patient care.
